ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say one Albuquerque man is jailed and another is being treated for a head wound following a shootout triggered by loud music.

Police Officer Fred Duran says the incident occurred late Monday night at a residence in southwest Albuquerque.

Duran says the victim was shot during an exchange of gunfire with a suspect who reportedly was bothered by loud music being played by the victim.

According to Duran, the suspect fired once into the air and then other times at the victim as the victim returned fire.

Duran says 23-year-old Alejandro Alberto Villa was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery. Villa is jailed and there’s no indication that he has an attorney who could comment on the allegation.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition. He wasn’t identified.
