NEW YORK (AP) - Police have arrested a man in the death of a 63-year-old construction worker who was struck and killed by his own truck that had just been carjacked in Brooklyn.

Police say the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Joshua Colon, of Brooklyn, jumped into Phillip Dellegrazia’s flatbed truck that had been idling outside his business in Greenwood Heights at about 9 a.m. Monday.

Police say Dellegrazia followed Colon in another vehicle. When he caught up to his truck he tried to get back into the cab, but police say he fell and was fatally struck by the truck as it drove away.

Police say Colon then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He was later arrested on murder, robbery and grand larceny charges. It wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer.
