BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple is among the featured speakers at the state’s first demographics conference.

Organizers say the event is focusing on how demographics impact citizens, businesses and communities. Experts are also giving demonstrations on how to use data.

Darlymple’s speech highlights the state’s record economic growth and efforts toward diversifying the state’s economy. North Dakota has recently seen a reversal for a longtime trend of outmigration.

Other speakers include Andy Hait of the U.S. Census Bureau, and Paul Mattessich, of Wilder Research.

The conference is scheduled Wednesday on the campus of Bismarck State College.
