DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Darlington County deputies have asked for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for covering a dog’s head and mouth with duct tape.

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that authorities received an anonymous tip Monday that a black dog had been duct-taped and was walking along a street in Darlington.

Deputies say they were able to find the dog and safely remove the tape.

The dog was taken to an animal shelter for treatment.
