MADISON, Ala. (AP) - Firefighters in Madison are looking for the cause of an overnight fire that destroyed a two-story home.

News outlets report five people living in the home escaped safely from the blaze early Tuesday morning. Madison is located about 11 miles west of Huntsville.

Firefighters were called to the house on Alden Bridge Court, near James Clemens High School, at about 4:30 a.m.

Authorities were investigating what caused the fire, which resulted in severe damage to the roof and other parts of the house.
