NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - A former staff member has returned to become the top editor at The North Platte Telegraph.

The newspaper reports (https://bit.ly/25J3ZCU ) that Joan von Kampen replaced Job Vigil (johb VEE’-hihl) as managing editor Monday. Vigil announced in January that he’d volunteered to become a reporter, making way for Von Kampen.

Von Kampen held several editing posts while working for the Telegraph from 1995 to 1997. She rejoins the paper after spending several years at the Omaha World-Herald, most recently as World-Herald News Service manager. She’s also worked at the Scottsbluff Star-Herald and The Des Moines Register.

Von Kampen grew up in Scottsbluff and earned a bachelor’s at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
