ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for a violent assault and robbery last year in Glen Burnie.

The Capital reports (https://bit.ly/1W8WWiJ) an Anne Arundel Circuit Court judge sentenced 25-year-old Timothy Stevenson of Glen Burnie on Monday to 25 years for first-degree assault and 15 years for robbery.

Prosecutors say Stevenson assaulted a man in July at the Moose Lodge, knocking him to the ground, kicking and punching him in the face before robbing him.

Prosecutors say the man spent months in the hospital recovering from life-threatening injuries. He remains in a physical rehabilitation center.

Authorities say Stevenson was arrested a day later after he assaulted and tried to rob a homeless man.
