NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is reporting a slashing incident aboard a subway train in the Bronx.

Police say a 26-year-old man was slashed on the head, face and hand by two men who robbed him of his backpack early Tuesday morning. It happened as a southbound No. 2 train was pulling into the Jackson Avenue station.

They say the victim and suspects did not know each other.

The suspects remain at large.

Police say the victim is in stable condition.
