NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are looking for a man they say carjacked a vehicle in the parking lot of a hospital where he was a patient.

Troopers said in a news release that 56-year-old Jeffery Blauvelt of Wilmington was a patient at Christiana Hospital in Newark. Police says Blauvelt left the hospital before being discharged and approached a car parked in front of the hospital.

Authorities say when the driver got out, Blauvelt slid into the driver’s seat. Police say a passenger who had just gotten out of the car tried to stop Blauvelt, but Blauvelt pushed him away and drove off.

Troopers have a warrant charging Blauvelt with carjacking. Police say Blauvelt is white, 5‘11” tall, weighs 220 pounds, and was wearing pants and a fur coat.
