HELENA, Mont. (AP) - The Montana Board of Pardons and Parole will have to hire a new executive director following the resignation of the head of the department.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/1SxZH7I ) Timothy Allred resigned his post as executive director on Friday.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Judy Beck said Allred has taken a job with the state probation and parole division.

Beck said the board is responsible for hiring Allred’s replacement.

Allred could not be reached for comment.

The board announced Allred’s hire in late 2014.

His predecessor retired.
