FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) - The state Department of Public Safety is holding a hiring event at Fort Bragg as officials look to fill openings for correctional officers.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday at the Fort Bragg Conference and Catering Center on the post. It’s open to service members, veterans and their families.

Gov. Pat McCrory said in a news release that staffers will interview people and be able to make contingent job offers. Officials also will help candidates apply for jobs online.

The public safety department has open correctional officer positions at various locations.
