WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) - West Allis police say two people are dead and two others were taken to a hospital following a three-vehicle crash.

The West Allis Police Department said in a news release that it received reports of a crash Monday and that preliminary investigation indicates a pickup struck a minivan, and the two vehicles hit a car.

According to the release, the minivan’s driver and passenger died as a result of the crash, and a passenger in the pickup and the car’s driver were taken to a hospital.

Police say alcohol and speed appeared to be factors in the crash. According to police, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man driving the pickup was taken into custody for suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

The release says the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office will review the incident.
