TUSTIN, Calif. (AP) - Prosecutors say an 80-year-old missionary who founded an Orange County nonprofit faces charges of sexually assaulting two girls, one of whom was under 10.

The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/1qrqtZk ) Douglas Dale Whinery of Tustin pleaded not guilty Tuesday to four felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, and two felony counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child under 10.

The district attorney’s office says if convicted, Whinery faces up to 100 years to life in prison.

The alleged crimes happened in Orange County between 2011 and this year.

Whinery, a pilot, is founder of Wings of Faith Ministries, which flies supplies to missionaries on remote Native American Indian reservations.
