WASHINGTON (AP) - District of Columbia police are conducting a new search for a girl who’s been missing for more than two years.

Relisha Rudd was 8 years old and living in a city homeless shelter when she disappeared in March 2014. She was last seen in the company of a janitor at the shelter, Khalil Tatum. After Relisha was reported missing, the body of Tatum’s wife was found in a motel, and Tatum was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier said Wednesday that police will be searching a “pretty extensive area” of the National Arboretum in northeast Washington over the next two days. The location is near where police have searched for Relisha in the past. The search area will include a body of water.
