GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A Grand Rapids exhibition is showcasing the art and design creations of students who are military veterans.

“Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot: An Exhibition of Veteran Art and Design” is open at Kendall College of Art and Design’s Helen Miller Gallery.

The exhibit features ceramics, drawing, furniture design, painting, photography, metals and sculpture by student veterans at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University. A closing reception is Saturday.

Anthony Murtha, a senior and U.S. Navy veteran, says in a statement the aim is “to showcase the uniquely diverse skillset possessed by our student veterans, as well as promote their abilities and give a means to tell their stories of military life.”

Organizers say some pieces bear the direct influence of students’ military service.
