JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Police in metro Atlanta say a pedestrian is dead after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a road.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (on-ajc.com/1qtOizi) Clayton County police were called to Tara Boulevard early Wednesday. Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said officers found a man seriously injured.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Clayton County police are investigating the collision. The name of the dead man was not immediately released.
