MIAMI (AP) - Two separate shootings in Miami have left one teen dead and another injured.

The first shooting happened Tuesday afternoon, when a 17-year-old boy was found shot to death in the parking lot of a Miami Gardens apartment complex. Officials haven’t confirmed the boy’s identity yet.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday night.

Another shooting took place around 6:15 p.m. in northwest Miami.

Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat says a 16-year-old boy was confronted by a man, who pointed a gun at him and shot several times before fleeing. The unidentified boy was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

Detectives say several people were outside when the shooting occurred. It’s unknown whether the victim and the gunman knew each other.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
