LOS ANGELES (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says three passengers were killed and a driver was critically injured in a single-car crash near Los Angeles International Airport.
The CHP is investigating whether excessive speed was a factor in the fiery crash Saturday on the Century Boulevard connector to Interstate 405.
Investigators say the car veered off the road into a dirt embankment, smashed into a concrete column and flipped over.
The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/2apKxFP) those killed included a 24-year-old woman from San Bernardino and a 16-year-old girl from Moreno Valley.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Moreno Valley, was hospitalized with critical injuries.
The road was closed for several hours following the crash.
