HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) - The fourth time’s the charm for the new Miss Hampton Beach in New Hampshire.

Brook Riley, of Lowell, Massachusetts, won the crown Sunday. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the annual summer pageant.

The Portsmouth Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2aJ8RoS) the 23-year-old Riley, a special needs teacher, had placed second in the pageant twice and in third place one summer.

This year’s first runner-up was Kirstin Pesaresi, of Portsmouth, a 23-year-old student at the University of New Hampshire.

Miss Hampton Beach is expected to make appearances at popular events such as the Seafood Festival, the Children’s Festival, the Christmas Parade and the Fourth of July festivities.
