MASON, Mich. (AP) - Bridge repair projects along trails in the Lansing area have received a more than $4.7 million boost.

Ingham County says Monday that the funds will replace 21 bridges and go toward to projects to stabilize land along waterways. Projects are planned in Lansing, East Lansing, Mason and Meridian Township. Money comes from a trail and park tax approved by voters in 2014.

From the funding, Lansing is getting $3.1 million and East Lansing is getting more than $890,000.

A second round of applications will be accepted beginning Oct. 1 to support new construction as well as repairs, rehabilitation and long-term maintenance.

Details about trail improvement plans are posted on the county’s website.
