TENAFLY, N.J. (AP) - A Brooklyn boy has died days after he was pulled out of a swimming pool in New Jersey.

Tenafly police say Michael Placide died Sunday at Hackensack University Medical Center. He had turned 9 while in the hospital.

The Record newspaper (https://bit.ly/2atOWG3 ) reports Placide appeared to be drowning when he was pulled from the pool at the Kaplen JCC On The Palisades community center on Thursday afternoon. CPR was in progress when police and paramedics arrived.

He was initially taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center before he was transferred to Hackensack.

There is no word on the cause of death.
