PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a 5-year-old boy has accidentally been shot in the hand, but they aren’t saying how it happened or who might be responsible.

Police also haven’t released the name of the boy who was wounded about 6:20 p.m. Sunday at a home in Germantown.

Police say the boy’s family drove him to Einstein Medical Center and that he’s in stable condition.

Police have recovered the gun but haven’t said who owns it or whether anyone might face charges for not properly securing the weapon.
