DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A Des Moines woman has pleaded guilty to two vehicular homicide charges stemming from a crash the left two men dead.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/2aHtC32 ) 53-year-old Deanna Marie Gliem entered the pleas Monday afternoon.

She was arrested after the Nov. 17 crash on Des Moines’ east side that killed 63-year-old Richard Hummel and 59-year-old Randall Sonnenburg. Police determined Gliem was driving 73 mph in an area with a 35 mph speed limit when she crashed into the car driven by Hummel.

Sonnenburg died at the crash site and Hummel died at a hospital.

Gliem initially faced four vehicular homicide counts, with two related to drunken driving and two related to reckless driving.

By pleading guilty to the two charges, she faces a maximum prison sentence of 35 years.
