Newly surfaced photos showing Donald Trump’s wife Melania posing nude with another woman in a 1995 Manhattan shoot are “nothing to be embarrassed about,” a top adviser to the Republican presidential nominee said Sunday.

“They’re a celebration of the human body as art,” Jason Miller, the Trump campaign’s senior communications adviser, said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”

“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” he added. “She’s a beautiful woman.”

Sunday’s cover of The New York Post, titled “The Ogle Office,” featured a nude Mrs. Trump with her hands covering her genitals. Monday’s cover, titled “Menage A Trump,” featured Mrs. Trump lying nude in a bed as Scandinavian model Emma Eriksson embraced her from behind.

The photos, taken in 1995 by French photographer Jarl Ale de Basseville, were reportedly taken three years before Mrs. Trump, then Melania Knauss, met Mr. Trump. The two married in 2005.

Several of the photos were featured in Max Magazine, a now-defunct French men’s monthly, more than 20 years ago, The Post reported.

When asked about the photos, Mr. Trump told The Post: “Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common.”

The Post endorsed Mr. Trump for president in April.
