OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) - Officials say firefighters rescued a man and his two young children from a house fire in upstate New York.

The blaze broke out Sunday morning in Oswego, trapping the family on the second floor. Fire Chief Jeffrey McCrobie says firefighters used a ladder to rescue the man, his 7-year-old girl and 4-month old son.

McCrobie is crediting the man with aiding in the rescue by moving the family into a bedroom and closing the door, blocking smoke and fire from entering the room.

Two dogs were also rescued from the house.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities haven’t said whether they have identified a cause for the fire.
