BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - A 26-year-old Bay St. Louis man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a car that belonged to the mother of a double homicide victim.

Bay St. Louis Police Chief Michael Denardo tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/2anRasd) Myrick Laneaux was arrested Sunday on a charge of taking possession of a motor vehicle and jailed in Hancock County without bond. Denardo said it has not been determined whether Laneaux was connected to the slayings.

The investigation began Saturday night when found 28-year-old Kristina Quintini, a former dance team captain with the Southern Miss Dixie Darlings, and her boyfriend, 29-year-old Norris Demetrius Mueller, dead.

Denardo said Quintini’s 6-month-old daughter also suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder. She is undergoing treatment at a New Orleans hospital.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Laneaux.
