BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Authorities say a man is facing charges after causing a multi-vehicle crash in Billings that left an infant girl hospitalized.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Aaron Freivalds says the suspect struck a vehicle that had been stopped at a stop light on Saturday night, forcing the vehicle into another car stopped in front of it.

The infant girl, who had been riding in the suspect’s vehicle, was taken to a hospital. Freivalds say she had been in a car seat and appeared unharmed.

Police say the suspect had gotten into a physical altercation with another driver after the crash.

Authorities are working to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the incident.

The suspect was treated at a hospital before being booked into jail.
