CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) - Officials say a man has been injured after he was thrown from a carnival ride at the Canyon County Fair.

County spokesman Joe Decker tells The Idaho Press-Tribune (https://bit.ly/2aHvLfe) that witnesses reported the incident happened Friday night when the 50-year-old man stood up on a ride known as the “Octopus.” He says occupants on the ride are required to stay seated.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a Boise hospital. An update on his condition has not been released.

Brown’s Amusement, which runs the carnival, states on its website that it inspects the rides daily.

The company did not respond to a request for comment Monday.
