BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) - A 39-year-old man is being held on $150,000 bail in connection with a weekend crash in Bedford, New Hampshire, that killed one of his passengers.

Deng Chol Mabor has been charged with negligent homicide, aggravated driving while intoxicated and reckless conduct following the Friday crash that resulted in the death of 36-year-old Thon Kuai.

Police say Chol Mabor struck a utility pole on South River Road at a high rate of speed, which sent his car airborne before clearing a fence and flipping over. The Manchester man and his two passengers were taken to Elliot Hospital, where Kuai was pronounced dead.

Chol Mabor suffered shoulder, arm and neck injuries. The second passenger was treated and released.

WMUR-TV reports Chol Mabor said in court Monday that he wasn’t drinking.
