BEAVERTON, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the weekend death of a boater in Gladwin County appears to be an accident.

Randall Garland of Lennon failed to return to his campsite Saturday while boating on the Tobacco River, 90 miles north of Lansing. The Gladwin County sheriff’s office says his body was found in the river a few hours after authorities were called.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by state police and other local departments.
