SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Sacramento police say a woman has been arrested in the shooting of a 6-year-old girl in the city.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2aJ9MVJ ) that the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 21-year old woman suspected of firing several gunshots from her car on Tuesday evening. Authorities say the gunshots struck the car carrying a girl and her mother.

Sgt. Tony Turnbull says the child was taken to the hospital and has had two surgeries, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

He says the girl’s mother knew the suspected shooter and the two had disagreements before the shooting.

The suspect was arrested in Oroville Saturday night on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
