OTTAWA, Ill. (AP) - Illinois State Police say at least three people were killed in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near Ottawa.

The Monday afternoon crash prompted the closing of westbound lanes near mile-marker 93 for several hours. Traffic was re-routed off the interstate.

Authorities said the crash 70 miles southwest of Chicago involved four trucks, three of them semi-trailers, and an automobile. Two of the vehicles caught fire.

Authorities said two of the victims were from the passenger car, and one fatality was from one of the semi-trucks.
