HUGER, S.C. (AP) - A suspect in a fatal home invasion has returned to South Carolina after being captured in Virginia.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office tells media outlets 23-year-old Sherrod Deon Palmer was located in Danville, Virginia, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Palmer faces several charges including murder in the July 21 shooting death of 27-year-old Kadeem Johnson.

Deputies say Palmer was one of five men accused of forcing their way inside a Huger home in the Francis Marion National Forest, killing Johnson and wounding an unidentified woman before fleeing.

Records show 18-year-old Drake Campbell, 26-year-old Kenneth Campbell Jr. and a 17-year-old male have all been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the incident.

A fifth suspect remains at large. It isn’t clear if the men have attorneys.
