CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A sport utility vehicle slammed into a commercial truck parked on the shoulder of Interstate 80, killing two people.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the crash occurred shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday about 5 miles west of Cheyenne.

Authorities say the SUV’s driver, 29-year-old Dustin Lovell, of Cheyenne, died. The name of the other victim, a 29-year-old female from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was not immediately released, pending notification of relatives.

The truck driver was not hurt.

The patrol says the 2015 SUV crashed into the truck’s trailer. The truck and trailer were parked in the emergency lane on the westbound shoulder with the hazard lights flashing.

The patrol says alcohol and drug use are being investigated as contributing factors.
