FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) - A Federal Way family got a rude wake-up call early Wednesday when a car crashed into a bedroom.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2bfNDOt ) that police are looking for the driver, who fled the scene.

The Ulrich family was sleeping in their house on SW 316th Street when a car swerved through their yard and plowed through the side of their house at about 1 a.m.

The car stopped inside the bedroom next to the one where the husband and wife were sleeping. No one in the home was injured - but it was close.

The couple’s daughter said if they had been 5 feet to the right, they would have been taken out on gurneys.

Damage caused by the crash was estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.
