DERRY, N.H. (AP) - A man who was once on the most-wanted parole fugitives list in Massachusetts has been arrested in New Hampshire following a police chase.

Police accused William Gervais of stealing nine cans of baby formula from a supermarket and then leading police on a chase in Londonderry last month, with his infant son in his lap.

WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2aZNvkj) bail was set $10,000 cash for Gervais. In court Wednesday, Gervais said he panicked and didn’t want to go back to jail. He said he has a drug problem and is looking for help.

In 2012, U.S. marshals in New Hampshire said they found Gervais, who left Massachusetts while on parole as part of an armed robbery sentence. He went missing from a drug treatment facility and was later found in Littleton.
