NEW YORK (AP) - The New York City Police Department says a 28-year-old man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a sport utility vehicle on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Hills. Police say Lanze Mason was driving his BMW motorcycle at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, when he hit the rear of a Toyota RAV4.

Police say officers found the Queens man unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say a 49-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman in the SUV were taken to a hospital for neck and back injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
