NEW PLYMOUTH, Idaho (AP) - Law enforcement officials in southwestern Idaho say a teenage boy has died after a shooting.

According to the Payette County Sheriff’s office, deputies responded to reports of a shots fired in New Plymouth on Tuesday evening and discovered a 17-year-old victim had died from a gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office says the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.

Detectives from Payette County and Idaho State Police are currently investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The teen’s name has not been released.
