SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Rodessa High School may no longer be standing within the next few months.

On a recommendation from district staff, the Caddo Parish School Board will consider demolishing the old school, which was closed more than 50 years ago.

The Times reports (https://bit.ly/2aK1cRB) board documents indicate the building is not economically viable to renovate and the campus is too far gone. Board members and administrators fear the building is too dangerous to remain in the community.

Superintendent Lamar Goree says officials had some concerns because it’s a huge building and it almost looks haunted.

Goree said the school district will evaluate the land and determine if there is a need for the land.
