GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A trial date has been set for one of three men indicted in the shooting of a woman killed by bullets police say were intended for her son.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2aLOpzQ) 21-year-old Karlos Onealius Oatis is set for trial Nov. 21 on murder and other charges filed after the 2015 killing of 43-year-old Anessia Daniels.

Police say Daniels was shot twice and her son was wounded when bullets pierced her Gulfport home on April 18, 2015. She died of a gunshot wound to the chest. Gulfport police have said her son was shot in his left leg.

According to court testimony, Daniels’ son owed Oatis money for 100 grams of Spice or synthetic marijuana.

Oatis was brought to court Monday for a trial setting.
