KENAI, Alaska (AP) - A woman died early Wednesday morning in a one-car crash on the Kenai Spur Highway.

The Peninsula Clarion, Kenai newspaper, reports (https://bit.ly/2aM0Ugp) a westbound sport utility vehicle just after 12:30 a.m. left the roadway and hit a ditch near Mile 5.

The SUV went airborne, struck a power pole and rolled multiple times.

The female driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

Kenai Police Chief Dave Ross says her name is being withheld until her family is notified.

A passenger was wearing a seat belt. Police say the passenger was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
