LOS ANGELES (AP) - Four men have been run over and injured by a vehicle in Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park.

Police Officer Jenny Houser says two of the injured are in critical condition and two others have injuries that are not life-threatening.

The incident occurred around 12:47 p.m. Thursday as Department of Transportation officers were giving warnings to people illegally parked on Park View Street.

Houser says a driver put his vehicle in reverse and struck the four men as they sat near a tree in the park.

The driver stayed at the scene and then was transported to a hospital as well.

Houser says the incident is being treated as a traffic accident.

The park west of downtown is routinely bustling.
