PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - Former CIA Director David Petraeus is visiting Portsmouth, New Hampshire this month.

The Portsmouth Herald (https://bit.ly/2bhZn0M ) reports that the Seacoast Chapter of Veterans Count will welcome the retired U.S. Army general to The Music Hall on Aug. 19.

Petraeus and the host will discuss Petraeus’ decorated military and public service career. The retired four-star general served more than 37 years in the military before leading the CIA during the global counter-terrorism effort.

He resigned in 2012. He later pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified information after authorities concluded that Petraeus shared classified materials with a mistress who was writing his biography.

Proceeds from the event’s ticket sales will go to Veterans Count, a program that aids service members, veterans and their families across the state.
