WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. (AP) - Police say human remains buried in a shallow grave have been uncovered western Pennsylvania.

The Youngstown Vindicator reports (https://bit.ly/2b0n5x0 ) that Pennsylvania State Police got a search warrant for a 35-acre property in Shenango Township after receiving a tip that someone had been buried there. Police said Thursday that the remains have been sent to Erie for an autopsy and that a forensic anthropologist was at the property.

Police say stolen firearms and other items found on the property could be tied to burglaries in the Lawrence and Mercer County areas.

Police also say that foul play is suspected and that the case is being investigated as a homicide.
