KENNER, La. (AP) - Kenner police say detectives have seized more than 12 pounds of marijuana after receiving a tip.

Kenner Police Department spokesman Lt. Brian McGregor tells NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/2aN5o9f) that investigators recently received information that two people would be in the Kenner area with a large amount of marijuana. Police began surveilling a parking lot Monday until a car described by the tipster arrived.

Detectives detained 24-year-old Julian Bourgeois and 23-year-old Ryan Cremaldi, who were inside the vehicle.

Police obtained a search warrant for the car. A search revealed a backpack with about an ounce of marijuana inside, and a duffel bag with 11 bags containing 12 pounds of marijuana.

Bourgeois and Cremaldi have been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

It’s unclear if the men have attorneys.
