WINOOSKI, Vt. (AP) - Police are searching for a masked man who robbed a Merchants Bank in Winooski and made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Police Chief Rick Hebert tells The Burlington Free Press (https://bfpne.ws/2bkhQZZ ) that the robbery happened at the bank’s Main Street branch at 7 p.m. Wednesday. It’s not known if any weapon was involved.

Herbert says police are unable to provide a description of the suspect because he was wearing a mask and gloves during the heist.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and contact the Winooski Police Department.
