PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Officials have closed the Red Canyon Swim Beach at Lake Pueblo because the beach is a bit too red.

KKTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2aP2wob ) that biologists found red staining on the inside of the shore left behind by some organism that may be harmful to people and animals.

Officials said Wednesday that more testing is needed before the next steps are known.

The beach was already scheduled to close on Sept. 5 for the season.
