WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - A New York driver who slammed into a bridge support while he was drunk and high on marijuana will spend one to three years in prison.

Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty says Hasani Ewan (EE’-wahn) of Mount Vernon was sentenced Thursday.

The September crash on the Cross County Parkway in Yonkers claimed the life of Elouise Spears of the Bronx.

Ewan pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in April.
