WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Worcester man police say went on an hour-long crime rampage that included a rape and an armed robbery has been held without bail.

A judge on Wednesday ordered 35-year-old Antonio Damon held pending a hearing to determine whether he is a danger to society scheduled for Aug. 22.

Damon pleaded not guilty at his arraignment to a dozen charges including aggravated rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, and carjacking.

Police responded to a city business just after 5 p.m. Tuesday after a 27-year-old woman called to say a man with a knife had entered her business and raped her. In less than an hour, police received reports of a carjacking, another sexual assault, a hit-and-run accident, and an armed robbery.

Damon’s attorney told the judge that his client denies the charges.
