LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police in Las Vegas are urging drivers to be aware of pedestrians after three people were killed in less than 24 hours crossing busy Las Vegas streets.

In the most recent case, authorities say a 37-year-old woman was in a crosswalk when she was struck and fatally injured about 9 p.m. Thursday on Eastern Avenue just north of Sahara Avenue.

Earlier, a man in his 50s was killed when he was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup a little after 5 a.m. Thursday on Sahara Avenue, just a few blocks away.

Police say the motorist, 36-year-old Victor Rivera-Gonzalez, left the scene but returned a short time later. He’s facing a felony hit-and-run charge.

On Wednesday night, a 60-year-old man was struck and killed crossing Boulder Highway near Nellis Boulevard.
